Accesibility Day. Inclusión Digital (Virtual)

In this event, different experts will talk about different topics related with Digital Accessibility. Afra will demonstrate that accessibility webs and apps benefit everyone (not only people with disabilities). Moreover, Alberto will explain different invents that have appear to solve accessibility problems. Silvia and Susana will talk about cognitive accessibility patterns. We will also have a demonstration of a blind person using a web and an app.

Hyderabad Celebrates Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2024 (In Person)

HD Impulse: Untertitel in Videos erstellen: Barrierefrei(er) ist nützlich für (Virtual)

Der Workshop richtet sich an alle interessierten Lehrenden von NRW-Hochschulen. Die Teilnahme ist anrechenbar auf das NRW-Zertifikat „Professionelle Lehrkompetenz für die Hochschule“. Sie lernen das Open-Source-Programm „Subtitle Edit“ kennen, in das die KI-gestützte Spracherkennung „Whisper“ integriert ist. Mit diesem Programm habt ihr die Möglichkeit, Videos automatisch zu untertiteln. Wichtig: Der Vorschlag muss eventuell nachbearbeitet werden und anschließend exportiert werden. Dann kann das untertitelte Video z. B. auf ILIAS, in Ihren Kurs, hochgeladen werden. Diese Schritte gehen wir gemeinsam durch. Zum Global Accessibilty Awareness Day (kurz GAAD) am 16. Mai 2024 organisiert das Kompetenzzentrum digitale Barrierefreiheit.nrw gemeinsam mit verschiedenen NRW-Hochschulen unterschiedliche Aktionen zu verschiedenen Themen der digitalen Barrierefreiheit. Das Kompetenzentrum digitale Barrierefreiheit.nrw ist ein Projekt der digitalen Hochschule NRW (dh.nrw), die Konsortialführung liegt bei DoBuS an der TU Dortmund. Es berät Hochschulen in NRW im Bereich der digitalen Barrierefreiheit und vernetzt die Akteure auf der Arbeitsebene. https://barrierefreiheit.dh.nrw

GAAD 2024: NRW-Hochschulen – gemeinsam barrierefrei (Virtual)

Der Global Accessibilty Awareness Day (kurz GAAD): Seit 2012 findet er immer am dritten Donnerstag im Mai statt – in diesem Jahr am 16. Mai. An diesen Tag werden international verschiedene Aktionen zur Umsetzung der digitalen Barrierefreiheit durchgeführt. Dies reicht von Clean-up Aktionen, unterschiedlichen Workshop-Formaten oder Tagungen mit Input zu Themen der digitalen Barrierefreiheit. Im vergangenen Jahr hat das Kompetenzzentrum dazu gemeinsam mit HD@DH.nrw einen Makerspace zu Alternativtexten durchgeführt. Hieraus ist der Leitfaden für die Schulungen zu Alternativtexten entstanden. In diesem Jahr möchten wir die Maßnahmen des Kompetenzzentrums noch weiter fassen und planen für jedes unserer Handlungsfelder mit den Hochschulen aus unseren Netzwerken gemeinsame Aktionen. We will also look back at how far iCIMS has come over the past eight years, since we started celebrating GAAD, and highlight our goals for the future. This will be a hybrid event for employees of iCIMS.

Ensuring an Inclusive & Accessible Green Transition (Virtual)

GAAD Meetup in Michigan (In Person)

Detective Series – Find Evidence of accessibility in development lifecycle (Private/Internal)

We are inviting internal employees to an event where we talk about the importance of shifting left to include accessibility throughout the project lifecycle. We will show examples of how it has helped within the company and ask team members to find and send evidence from their work that they are as well.
